1. HOW LONG DOES IT STAY COLD?
These products have been designed to stay cold according
to their use, the Eye Compress (Eyes Pack) has a specially
designed gel that will last cold between 10 to 25 minutes.
This difference in time varies depending on two factors:
a) room temperature, b) patient temperature. Of course,
the application of the eye mask will last longer as you
reapply because temperature of the skin and muscles tissues
have been lowered with prior applications and there is
less temperature exchange between the eye mask and the
face.
The main reason why this product stays cold 10 to 25
minutes only, is because we do not want to apply cold
in this area for long periods of time to avoid any possible
tissue damage. Cryo Therapy (the use of cold) constructs
the capillary vessels and diminishes the amount of blood
flow in the area where is being applied. If cold is being
applied in an area with thousands of capillary vessels
for a long period of time you will decrease the amount
of blood in this area, therefore oxygen will not reach
the tissues and could be damaged.
The recommended applications is 15 minutes on, rest for
15-20 minutes them reapply and keep this therapy for at
least 72 hours after the surgery or trauma.
For the Full Face Compress and the Breast compress, we
use the same kind of gel that for the Eye compress, therefore
the time these products stay cold is approximately the
same as the Eye compress.
For all the other Cryo-Products (general compresses)
the gel used in these compresses is a thicker gel that
can deliver cold temperature to a larger area for longer
periods of time. The reason why this gel last cold longer
than the other is for two reasons: A) more volume of gel
per compress, b) thicker gel that experiences slower temperatures
exchange. These products stay cold between 30-60 minutes.
The recommended application is 15 - 30 minutes over the
desired area, then remove for at least 15 - 30 minutes
than reapply for the same time.
2. HOW COLD DOES IT GET?
Both types of gel have the same properties even when
they do not freeze solid at below freezing temperatures,
the temperature they get is exactly the same as the place
where they are in. As an example, if the user's freezer
temperature is 0 F the gel temperature will be 0 F, if
the freezer is -15 F they will be -15 F too.
The gel will never be colder that the freezer temperature.
3. WHICH PRODUCT IS BEST FOR WHICH
APPLICATION?
Cryo Therapy (the application of cold has been recommended
for the treatment of trauma and has been widely accepted
as one of the most effective first aid methods. It is
extensively used for the treatment of traumatic injuries,
strains, sprains, muscle spasms, tooth aches, eye inflammation
or irritation, post-operative treatments. The prompt application
of cold will reduce the risk of hematoma formation and
will reduce local swelling by slowing the flow of blood
and other fluids through the injured or operated area.
These Cryo Therapy products have been designed to apply
cold temperature to different areas where the application
of cold is needed. Each product has been designed for
different parts of the body making the application of
cold simple, not messy or cumbersome.
We recommend the use of Cryo Therapy (cold therapy) for
all the following applications.

HOT:
Heat therapy delivers hot temperature to the upper layers
of the skin, when this heat is absorbed by the skin and
muscle tissues it increases blood supply. The increase
in blood supply causes a local vasodilatation reflex in
the tissue immediately beneath the compress. These applications
of heat therapy will help increase comfort and relaxation
of the muscles and/or joint relieving aches and pains.
4. WHAT MAKES THESE PRODUCTS DIFFERENT
FROM ALL THE OTHER HOT/COLD THERAPY PRODUCTS?
These products are manufactured with the fines materials
available in the market. Advantages like design, innovation,
technology and engineering make these the best performing
products money can buy.
We do not only make a hot/cold therapy product, we make
a special product designed for every need for today's
physicians.
The Gel is a non-freezable, non-toxic gel that works
as a flexible ice. The Plastic used in the manufacturing
of these products is FDA approved, and all products can
be Gas sterilized, they are reusable and very easy to
use. The anatomical design of all these products makes
them very unique and helpful.
5. WHY DO THESE PRODUCTS HAVE DIFFERENT
COLORS?
The eye masks have different colors for the following
reasons:
An Impulse Buying Behavior study was conducted many years
ago to define the colors for the eye mask. The results
showed that our of a 100% of the people involved in this
study, 54% were women and they chose the red and men did
not mind the difference in color.
To be different from all other competitors.
For fun.
6. HOW DO WE HEAT IT?
We strongly recommend submerged in hot tap water,We do
not recommend Microwave use for heating, for it could
damage your compress and void the warranty. If you must
follow the instructions closely.
7. WHAT TEMPERATURE SHOULD IT BE
FROZEN AT?
It does not matter, they all can be frozen to the same
temperature as the freezer temperature.
8. WHAT'S THE GEL INSIDE MADE FROM?
DOES IT FREEZE?
The gel used in these products is a non-freezable gel
made from non-toxic materials. In case a product breaks
and the gel touches the skin, there will not be any allergic
reactions.
During Clinical and Safety Studies, this gel was injected
into rabbits and placed over their eyes and non of them
have died or experienced any bad reactions.
This gel doesn't freeze because it is made with some
non-toxic, USP, non-freezable agents.
9. HOW COME THE EYE MASK HAS NO
"HOLES" IN THE MIDDLE LIKE THE ONES THEY SELL
IN CHAIN STORES AND DRUGSTORES?
The answer is very simple, because this is not a chap
product. It has been designed to meet and touch with its
soft and pliable membranes the area where the cold therapy
must be applied.
Some people may say: If you don't have holes how can
I walks around the house?, well, after surgery you just
do not want to be walking around the house, you need to
apply as a therapy and dedicate the few minutes needed
for the eye compress to work. Besides you want that area
to be treated with cold, so therefore as a conclusion,
the other eye masks that have the holes over the eyes
have very poor design and doubt they can deliver effective
therapy over the eye area.
10. CAN THESE PRODUCTS BE STERILIZED?
HOW?
Yes, they all can be sterilized.
The recommended sterilization process is Gas sterilization
by Ethylene Oxide (ETO).
By using the standards for ETO, our products (gel packs)
will meet or exceed the specifications of Ethylene Oxide
Sterilization. The product should be placed in a double
wrap for proper presentation or storage.
We also suggest that radiation sterilization can be applied
to these products. If you do not need to sterilize the
product and would like to use it with another patient,
the product could be washed with Cidex as long as you
make sure that it will not touch directly the skin or
an open wound.
Always use a sterile gauze in between the patients face
and the compress , specially after any procedure.
11. DO THEY CONTAIN LATEX?
No, all of our Cryo Therapy Products are Latex Free.
